Position Overview Scripbox is hiring a Junior Research Associate to join its Centralized Research team, which drives the firm’s investment strategy across India. With over ?19,000 crore in AUM and 8 branches nationwide, the team supports portfolio decisions for retail, HNI, and UHNI clients. This is a fresher-only role for individuals with strong analytical skills and a clear academic and conceptual foundation in finance. Candidates from any academic background are welcome to apply, as long as they demonstrate the required aptitude and interest in investments and financial research. Pursuing the CFA program will be an expected component of the candidate’s long-term growth in this role. The role is dynamic and evolving, offering exposure to real-world investment decisions, research processes, and performance analytics in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Intelligence & Strategic Tracking Assist in maintaining structured evaluation models and watchlists to monitor mutual fund and PMS performance, investment strategy alignment, and consistency over time. Conduct back testing to assess the effectiveness of internal fund evaluation strategies and scoring metrics.
- Fund Research & Data Automation Support the analytics backbone of mutual fund research by managing Excel-based macros and reporting tools. Regularly update fund returns, AUM flows, risk metrics, and rating movements that feed into ongoing portfolio strategy.
- Performance Monitoring of Curated Fund Lists Track and review the behavior of recommended funds across SIP and lump-sum strategies. Identify trends or outliers that inform timely reviews and help maintain portfolio quality.
- Presentation & Reporting Support Prepare data inputs and visual summaries for monthly investment presentations. Calculate internal strategy returns and contribute to presentation decks used in internal and client communications.
- Thematic & Sustainability-Linked Investment Tracking Maintain datasets related to key investment categories including sustainable, impact-driven, or goal-based funds. Monitor product consistency and alignment with broader strategy narratives.
- Cross-Functional Research Support Collaborate with product, sales, and advisory teams by translating data into actionable insights and contributing to discussions on fund performance, relative positioning, and suitability. Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
o Chartered Accountant (fresher) or MBA in Finance.
o CFA Level I (appeared or cleared). ? Skills and Attributes:
o Strong MS Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, basic macros).
o Exposure to data analytics tools such as Python, R, or Power BI.
o Effective communicator with a collaborative and learning-oriented mindset.
